BLM Community Meeting to Call Out LA District Attorney on Fatal Police Shootings of Civilians

JAN 23, 2018 – Black Lives Matter Los Angeles @BLMLA announced that activists, supporters and the families of those killed in Los Angeles County by law enforcement are holding a community meeting, Tuesday, Jan. 23, on LA District Attorney @LADAOffice Jackie Lacey’s failure to prosecute officers involved in fatal shootings of civilians.

According to the @ComptonHerald, Since Lacey’s election in 2012, more than 300 residents of LA County have been killed by the police or died while in custody. The district attorney’s office has not filed charges against any officer involved in an on-duty shooting in more than 15 years – and Lacey hasn’t held a community meeting in South Los Angeles since 2016.

Tuesday’s meeting will occur at noon in the heart of the Skid Row district at the Los Angeles Community Action Network @LACANetwork headquarters located at 838 E. 6th Street.
